PASTOR, IT’S TIME TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST GENDER REASSIGNMENT SURGERY FOR CHILDREN

As pastors, we have an obligation to recognize the truth of God’s Word and to speak out against the growing trend of children receiving gender transition medications and reassignment surgery. The Bible is clear that gender is determined by God and is not something that should be changed, and we certainly should not be allowing children to make such life-altering decisions. Thankfully, there is a bill being debated at the capitol right now that would prevent this mutilation from happening to our children. It is important for us to speak out against the practice of child mutilation in the name of “gender affirming care.” The bill is SB 140, and it is important that you reach out to your representatives and tell them that it is imperative that this bill is passed.

This bill is still being crafted and it is crucial that puberty blockers, hormone injections, and child mutilations are all banned. Pray that as our state legislators debate this bill, they recognize the importance of including all three of these abusive practices. It is now the time for Christians to stand up and speak out against this abuse. We need to let our voices be heard and let our children know that we LOVE them. Recently, there has been a huge surge in the number of children undergoing this barbaric transition and it is extremely concerning that God’s Word is so easily ignored.

The Bible makes it clear that our bodies are a gift from God and that we should not permanently alter His masterpiece. In Ephesians 2:10 we are declared, “his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
In Genesis 1:27 we read, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” In addition, Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind”. It is our responsibility as pastors to lead people away from worldly ideologies and towards a more biblically-centered lifestyle. We must take a stand against these practices and speak out against them in accordance with God’s Word.

This is an urgent matter, and we cannot remain silent on this issue. We must use our voices to protect the rights of children and ensure their safety from harm.

The so-called “gender affirming care” that many medical professionals are selling to confused children is harmful and dangerous. It should be considered child abuse and those encouraging it should be held accountable. In most cases, it involves surgically altering a child’s body in ways that are irreversible, leaving them with physical scars for life. Children as young as 8 and 9 are receiving this “care” and it is nothing short of mutilation and should never be allowed.

Additionally, there are numerous studies showing the negative long-term effects of gender reassignment surgery on children, including higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide. Allowing a child to have such a procedure ignores the potential harm it could cause and disregards the child’s best interests.

TAKE A STAND, firm in your conviction, that children should not be subjected to gender reassignment surgery or any other form of “gender affirming care” according to what the Bible teaches us about God’s plan for gender identity and sexuality. Let us pray for those who may be considering such a procedure for their children and that we can provide them with resources and support to help them make an informed decision about their child’s wellbeing. But let us also take the ground that is in front of us and contact our legislators NOW to ban child mutilation in our state.
